Grateful for the Journey

 

After an incredible journey of nearly 52 months, I recently bid farewell to Pocket FM.

It's amazing how quickly time flies. Looking back, I'm filled with gratitude for the people, the stories, and the experiences that made this journey so meaningful.

My heartfelt thanks to my wonderful team. It was a privilege working with all of you. A special thank you to Abhivyanjana ji, Akshay, Krunal, Sridhar, Rishi, Apurva, Rashmi ji, Rishikant, Sachin, Simran, and everyone who made these years so memorable.

I'm grateful to have contributed to some incredible shows, including:

• Vashikaran

Being a part of stories that reached and entertained millions of listeners is something I'll always be proud of.

One of the most touching moments of my farewell was the beautiful gift my team gave me: a customized diary and pen set engraved with my name, along with a heartfelt handwritten note. It was a thoughtful gesture that I'll always cherish. Thank you for making me feel so valued.

As I look ahead to new opportunities, I do so with immense gratitude for everything I experienced at Pocket FM. The memories, learnings, friendships, and countless moments from these 52 months will always stay with me.

Not Every Show Wins, But Every Show Matters

 Not every story is a hit, but every effort teaches us something useful. Maharana Pratap, Mission Zombie, Pakshiraj, Shaadi Ya Sale, The Sword God, and Veer Warrior etc may not have gotten as many views as some of our other shows, but making them was just as important.

 The team spent countless hours behind the scenes coming up with new ideas, rewriting scenes, polishing dialogues, and brainstorming.We tried to match the dialects of our characters to the regions they lived in, we tried out character arcs that were out of the ordinary, and we took risks with formats that weren't always easy to pull off.  These shows taught us how to be strong, how important small things are, and how brave it is to keep coming up with new ideas.

 The process was still worthwhile, even though the results were mixed. It made us feel good, showed us what listeners like, and reminded us that being creative is just as much about trying new things as it is about succeeding.

 We appreciate every writer, editor, and performer who worked on these projects with all their heart.  These trips make me even more sure that every experiment, even the ones that don't work out, brings us one step closer to being better storytellers.

Beyond Numbers: Celebrating Creativity and Team Spirit

 

In the last few years, some of our audio shows have reached amazing heights.From Chanakya's wise words to Super Yoddha's epic adventures, Vashikaran's thrilling suspense, Insaani Dragon and Veer Warrior's fantasy worlds, Sherdil's heartfelt grit, and Zero to Hero's rise to fame, each story touched the hearts of millions.

 The numbers speak for themselves, but it's also the love from our fans and the hard work of our whole team that made this happen. Everyone who worked on these projects turned ideas into things that people connected with every day.

 This journey has been about more than just plays and ratings; it's been about working together, being creative, and trusting each other. Each milestone is a reminder that when we work together, we make something that lasts.

 Thank you so much to everyone on the team for putting their heart and soul into every script, sound, and episode.  And thanks to our listeners for letting these stories into your lives.

 Here's to more stories, more milestones, and more memories to come.

अलविदा, मेरे दोस्त बन चुके प्रोजेक्ट...

कोई प्रोजेक्ट जब हफ़्तों-महीनों से आगे बढ़कर सालों तक चलता है, तो उसमें शामिल लोग दिनचर्या का हिस्सा बन जाते हैं। उनसे बातें करते-करते उनकी कई आदतें तक रट जाती हैं। फिर किसी दिन खबर मिलती है कि इस प्रोजेक्ट को कुछ दिनों में ख़त्म करना है। तो इतनी लंबी रचनात्मक यात्रा को हाई नोट पर ख़त्म करने की मानसिक भागदौड़ होती है। फिर...बस फिर रह जाती हैं कुछ यादें, what ifs, स्क्रीनशॉट्स। लगभग 13 से 15 मिनट के एक एपिसोड वाली सीरीज को 100 घंटे पार करने पर सुपरहिट माना जाता है। बीते दिनों बंद हुए चाणक्य (पॉकेट एफ़एम) ने 200 घंटे का कॉन्टेंट पार किया, कई अवार्ड्स जीते, और कई भाषाओं में इसका अनुवाद हुआ। शो टीम खासकर पंकज चांदपुरी, महेश शर्मा और अभिराज को बधाइयां!

आपात स्थिति में शो के कुछ एपिसोड्स लिखने के अलावा शो के अंतिम कुछ एपिसोड्स की शुरुआत में मैंने ट्रिब्यूट के तौर पर कुछ काव्य पंक्तियां जोड़ी, जैसे एपिसोड 804 "बिन्दुसार का जन्म, नंदिनी की मृत्यु!" में ये -

असंभव सा फैलते विष को रोकने का कार्य,

समय के हर क्षण से जैसे युद्ध लड़ें आचार्य!

महल में गूंज रही नंदिनी की चीख,

अमात्य राक्षस भी मांग रहा ईश्वर से भीख।

पुतले बने शशांक, प्रियम्वदा भरे आहें,

विषाक्त नीली आँखें अंतिम बार बस चंद्र को देखना चाहें।

चाणक्य के साथ ही 3 साल से चल रहे यक्षिणी शो का भी 1001 एपिसोड पर अंत हुआ, जिससे में आधे सफर में जुड़ा था। आनंद की भी जितनी तारीफ़ की जाए कम है।  हाल ही में संपन्न 2024 India Audio and Summit Awards (IASA) में यक्षिणी को एक नॉमिनेशन मिला। खैर, सफ़र जारी है...एक सिरा छूटता है, तो कुछ ओर थामने को मिल जाता है। #ज़हन

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to provide a quick update on my most recent job assignments. Apart from Chanakya and few testing shows, I'm currently working on four fascinating audio series with some really amazing writers and voice-over artists: "Super Yoddha," "Sword God," "Zero to Hero," and "Sherdil." कुछ महीने से पॉकेट एफएम में बतौर संपादक और क्रिएटिव गाइड काम कर रहा हूँ। कई सीरीज की शुरुआत में टीम के साथ ब्रेनस्टॉर्मिंग करनी पड़ती है, क्योंकि अगर शुरू के कुछ टेस्ट एपिसोड में सुनने वालों की संख्या और रिटेंशन (सीरीज को लगातार सुना जाना) अच्छे होते हैं, तब ही उसे आगे के लिए हरी झंडी मिलती है। अलग-अलग शैली और पृष्ठभूमि के लेखकों के साथ दी गई थीम के अनुसार काम करना और उसे सफल बनाना एक बेहतरीन अनुभव है। इसके अलावा अभी तीन शोज़ में मैं स्थायी योगदान दे रहा हूँ। स्थायी शोज़ समय और सुनने वालों के अनुसार घटते बढ़ते रहते हैं।

A Billion Dollar Wife

लेखकों के साथ सबसे बड़ी चुनौती जो आती है वो है एक प्रारूप जैसे किताबों, कॉमिक्स, ब्लॉग आदि के अभ्यस्त लेखक जब ऑडियो या वीडियो फॉर्मेट के लिए लिखते हैं, तो वे लोग कई बातें मान कर चलते हैं कि सुनने वाले को पता होंगी और उन्हें छोड़कर आगे बढ़ जाते हैं। वहीं कभी-कभार नेरेशन और डायलॉग का अनुपात भी बिगड़ जाता है, मतलब जो बात समझानी थी वो नेरेशन में ही निपटा दी गई। फिर बात आती है प्रबंधन द्वारा लेखकों को मैनेज करने की। उसमें काम, पैसे, फीडबैक, छुट्टी आदि का सही संतुलन ज़रूरी होता है। तो कह सकता हूँ, सभी पक्षों के संपर्क में रहने वाली इस भूमिका में अभी तक का अनुभव अच्छा रहा!

राह दिखाते चाणक्य!

मार्च में पॉकेट एफएम में शामिल हुआ और आते ही कुछ शोज़ की ज़िम्मेदारी मिली। जहाँ प्रतिभावान लेखक, वॉइस ओवर कलाकार मौजूद थे। इनमें सबसे ज़्यादा चुनौतीपूर्ण शो था 'चाणक्य'...लेखक श्री पंकज चांदपुरी और पूर्व संपादक श्री पंकज कांडपाल की मेहनत की सराहना करनी होगी। इसका कुछ अन्य भाषाओं जैसे तेलुगू, कन्नड़ आदि में भी अनुवाद शुरू हुआ। अच्छी रेटिंग और श्रोताओं की संख्या के कारण कम समय में ही शो को सोशल मीडिया और ऐसे लिस्टिकल में जगह मिलने लगी है। अपना प्यार बनाए रखें!
